Welcome, lore-lovers, to Liandrug, your gateway to the enchanting world of Runeterra!
Opening
Today, we dive deep into the explosive lore of the yordle, Ziggs! From his chaotic beginnings to his thrilling adventures, we'll uncover the untamed brilliance of this master of demolition.
With a passion for massive explosives and a penchant for quick tempers, Ziggs, the yordle, embodies the explosive essence of nature. While working as an assistant to an inventor in Piltover, he found his routine life to be dull. It was during this time that he struck up a friendship with Jinx, an eccentric, blue-haired bomber. Following an exhilarating escapade in the city, Ziggs heeded Jinx's advice and relocated to Zaun, where he now explores his explosive interests without restraint. In his perpetual quest to cause explosions, he keeps the chem-barons and ordinary citizens on edge, creating chaos in the process.
Champion's story
Ziggs possessed a natural talent for tinkering, a quality quite uncommon among his fellow yordle scientists, owing to his inherently chaotic and hyperactive nature. His dream was to become an esteemed inventor in the same league as Heimerdinger, and he pursued this goal with fervor. Ziggs threw himself into ambitious projects with maniac enthusiasm, drawing inspiration from both his explosive failures and groundbreaking discoveries.
News of Ziggs' volatile experiments eventually reached the renowned Yordle Academy in Piltover, prompting its distinguished professors to invite him for a demonstration. However, during this showcase, Ziggs's characteristic disregard for safety led to an abrupt end when the hextech engine he was presenting overheated and exploded, causing significant damage to the Academy. The professors, recovering from the ordeal, sternly gestured for him to leave. Crushed by the embarrassment, Ziggs prepared to return to Bandle City in disgrace.
Before he could make his exit, though, a group of Zaunite agents infiltrated the Academy and abducted the professors. The Piltover military managed to trace their whereabouts to a fortified Zaunite prison but lacked the means to breach its walls. Determined to outshine them, Ziggs embarked on a new project, capitalizing on his accidental gift for demolition. He quickly developed a range of potent bombs, affectionately called "hexplosives."
With his newly created weapons in tow, Ziggs ventured into Zaun, infiltrated the prison compound, and unleashed a colossal bomb, which tore through the reinforced wall. Once the dust settled, Ziggs stormed into the facility, using his explosive arsenal to repel guards and free the captive yordles. Upon their return to the Academy, the once-humbled professors bestowed upon Ziggs an honorary title - the Dean of Demolitions. Finally vindicated, Ziggs gladly accepted the honor, eager to share his ever-expanding array of hexplosives with the rest of Valoran.
In this thrilling tale, called "Bombs: a tribute", Ziggs, the yordle master of explosives, embarks on an adventure in the dark undercity of Zaun, leaving behind the snooty world of Piltover. Heimerdinger seems to have played a vital role in Ziggs decision to leave Piltover for Zaun, that's because he considers that professor Heimerdinger is keeping him away from the fun he could have with his explosives. He's fueled by a desire to create massive explosions and explore the untamed potential of the undercity. As he roams the murky streets, he stumbles upon a seemingly mundane building that turns out to be an explosives factory, igniting his excitement.
However, upon closer inspection, Ziggs discovers that the factory is no longer in use and is about to be shut down for good. This revelation fills him with disappointment and confusion, as he can't fathom how such a place of explosive creation could be abandoned.
As Ziggs contemplates his next move, he encounters two disheartened human youngsters who were hoping to find bombs in the factory but are leaving empty-handed. This adds to Ziggs' own sense of despair. He watches as the kids give up and leave the premises.
Determined to honor the factory's legacy, Ziggs decides to take matters into his own hands. He returns to the building with a plan to fill it with his own hexplosives, creating a spectacular send-off for the factory that was once full of dreams.
In his makeshift lab in Jinx's chaotic space, Ziggs designs his hexplosives, which he fondly calls "Chain Smokers." He intends to set them off one after the other, transforming the dull factory into a mesmerizing spectacle.
Ziggs eagerly returns to the factory, armed with his Chain Smokers and a plan to blow the front wall off first for a grand entrance. However, he gets caught up in a countdown, forcing him to rush back to a safe distance. As he watches the impending explosion, he notices the two kids from before have returned and are standing perilously close to the danger zone.
Ziggs, fearing for their safety, rushes to warn them and pushes them out of harm's way just in time. The front wall explodes dramatically, showering the streets with a mesmerizing display of sparks and rubble, capturing the attention of the Zaunite locals.
As Ziggs revels in the success of his plan, he realizes that the people are now staring at him, the furry yordle, with astonishment. His victory dance is met with confusion, as the Zaunites are more accustomed to collapsing buildings than gleeful furballs.
Undeterred, Ziggs examines the aftermath and retrieves the "KEEP OUT" sign, a token of his epic feat. He's determined to bring life and excitement to the abandoned factory, ensuring it's remembered for its explosive potential.
In the end, Ziggs leaves a trail of chaos and wonder in his wake, proving that, in Zaun, the undercity has indeed offered him the whizz-bang potential he was searching for.
Champion's relations
In terms of interactions with other characters, seems like Ziggs is quite terrified of Jinx (she constantly wants to hug him). Jinx believes he is a product of her imagination, more specifically talking, her conscience. After a night of mischiefs with her all around Piltover, Ziggs now lives with her in Zaun.
Ziggs sees Heimerdinger as his idol and used to work for him before going to Zaun with Jinx.
In the old lore, Ziggs became the Dean of Demolitions for Piltover's Yordle Academy of Science and Progress after he rescued Heimerdinger and its other professors from a Zaunite prison.
