Champion's story
Once a prince of Camavor, Vladimir was relinquished as a royal hostage to an enigmatic Darkin in exchange for the kingdom's liberation from the creature's tyranny. If the king were to betray the accord with the Darkin, Vladimir's life would pay the price.
Transported to the heart of Shurima, where his Darkin master held sway, Vladimir was granted the rare privilege of communication with his homeland. Yet, his missives met only deafening silence, revealing the stark betrayal of his father, who had forsaken his oath. With heirs in abundance, Vladimir's demise held little consequence for the king.
To Vladimir's astonishment, instead of meeting his expected demise, his Darkin master had a more intriguing proposition in mind. Offered the chance to lead an assault against his own kingdom, Vladimir eagerly embraced the opportunity. With ruthless efficiency, he laid waste to his father's city, offering his patriarch's severed head as a testament to his loyalty.
Elevated above mortal status, Vladimir earned favor in his master's ranks, mastering the forbidden art of hemomancy. Despite the prohibition against teaching mortal secrets, his master reveled in flouting convention. As Vladimir grew to govern his subjects with the same merciless hand as his dark kin, his talents surpassed those of all who dared to tread the path of blood magic.
As the Great Darkin War drew to a close, the adversaries of the darkins forged an alliance against their common foe. Tasked by his Darkin master to lead the defense against these unified enemies, Vladimir found himself in a pivotal role. Unbeknownst to all save Vladimir himself, he had uncovered a means to vanquish a god-warrior. Seizing the opportunity, Vladimir slew his master, absorbing his essence and ascending to a state of near-immortality. With few mortals surviving the conflict, they fled, carrying with them the remnants of blood magic knowledge.
Following the war's conclusion, Vladimir sought solace and further enlightenment on the Blessed Isles. There, he delved deeper into the mysteries of magic, expanding his repertoire and amassing a trove of mystical artifacts.
During the height of the Reign Of The Iron Revenant, a menacing figure, steeped in myth and thirst for blood, terrorized the coastal cliffs of eastern Valoran. Local barbaric Noxii tribes lived in fear of this fiend, who demanded sacrifices and worship. Yet, one day, a pale sorceress approached the barbarian god with a proposition. In a dark and eerie communion, they feasted together as equals, their magic intertwining in sinister harmony.
Thus, the infamous Black Rose was born from the pact between Vladimir and LeBlanc. With newfound unity, Vladimir rallied the Noxii tribes, leading them into battle against the Iron Revenant. Through their combined efforts, they managed to defeat the tyrant, neutralizing the source of his power, the Immortal Bastion.
Severing the anchors of Mordekaiser's soul from his armor and sealing his empty iron shell away in a hidden sanctuary, the alliance brought an end to his reign of terror. Thus, Mordekaiser was cast out of the material realm, his threat to Valoran finally extinguished.
Later on, when General Kalista visited the Blessed Isles, Vladimir received word of the tragedy befalling the current king and queen of Camavor. Despite his attempts to reach out to the grief-stricken Viego, who refused to respond, Vladimir possessed the power and knowledge that could have potentially saved her. Sensing impending disaster as Viego sailed with his armies towards the Blessed Isles, Vladimir departed the region, narrowly evading the catastrophic Ruination of Helia.
Following the fall of Helia (Blessed Isles capital) to the Ruination, the remnants of an ancient order from the Blessed Isles, tasked with safeguarding the most dangerous artifacts in Runeterra, struggled to conceal knowledge of the World Runes. Political tensions escalated as nations feared unwitting destruction by these potent relics. During a fateful parley between the leaders of two rival Noxii tribes and Tyrus of Helia at the village of Khom, catastrophe struck. The meeting ended in the utter annihilation of Khom and its surroundings, wrought by the unleashed power of two World Runes.
Amidst the chaos of the Rune Wars, Vladimir and the remaining Noxii sought refuge within the Immortal Bastion, shielding themselves from the magical fallout of the cataclysmic conflict. Emerging from the bastion as a united people, they shed their former identity as Noxii, embracing the moniker of Noxus. The construction of the Noxian capital, Noxus Prime, at the impregnable Immortal Bastion marked a turning point in history. This momentous event heralded the inception of the Noxian Calendar, shaping the trajectory of their society for generations to come.
Over the passing centuries, the ranks of the Black Rose swelled with the addition of formidable figures--mighty nobles, revered masters of magic, and entities veiled in darkness. Amidst internal strife, political maneuvering, and the tumult of warfare, the Black Rose burgeoned into a clandestine force that would wield influence over the throne of Noxus for a millennium. Through cunning machinations, it orchestrated numerous ambitious campaigns that shaped the empire's destiny.
As Noxus aggressively expanded its dominion, forcibly annexing territories along its eastern borders, its strength grew commensurate with its lofty ambitions. The fall of The Drakkengate further bolstered Noxus's might, solidifying its position as a formidable power on the world stage.
During the pivotal Battle of the Greenfangs, the Arcane Fist, a skilled order of Noxian warmages led by Vladimir, unleashed a relentless assault upon Demacian forces for thirteen grueling days. It was during this conflict that the legendary colossus, Galio, awed onlookers with his emergence. With wings echoing the image of the Winged Sisters, Galio roused to life, his presence a beacon of hope for Demacia.
In a remarkable turn of events, Galio valiantly defended the beleaguered Demacian soldiers, single-handedly vanquishing the entire mage army. Yet, as swiftly as he had appeared, Galio returned to his dormant state upon the cessation of hostilities. The tale of Galio's heroics, recounted by survivors of the Battle of the Greenfangs, would eventually fade into myth and legend as the years passed, dismissed by many as mere fantasy.
In recent events, following the demise of the former Grand General and the ascension of Jericho Swain, the political landscape of the empire underwent a profound transformation, prompting Vladimir to emerge once more from the shadows. Cloaked in the guise of a gracious socialite, he reentered public life as a staunch critic of the ruling Trifarix council, eliciting apprehension from more cautious members of the Black Rose. His return, however, may have been premature, for the passage of time has yet to erase the stains of his past deeds, and it appears that Swain himself may be beginning to unravel Vladimir's true nature.
Having languished in passivity for too long, Vladimir is now poised to seize what is rightfully his--a kingdom long denied to him. Under his guidance, the practice of hemomancy has gained traction within the Noxian military and among the remnants of the old aristocracy. Among the ranks of these diverse practitioners stands the Crimson Circle of the Tides of Blood, a burgeoning cult that venerates Vladimir as much as it reveres the dark art of blood magic itself.
Personality
After what we've found out, we can say that Vladimir epitomizes the essence of cruelty and hedonism, driven by an insatiable thirst to savor the pleasures of his immortal existence. Beneath his flamboyant facade lies a sinister penchant for inflicting pain and indulging in sadistic displays of power.
Establishing his residence in Mortoraa, a lavish mansion nestled within a prestigious district of the Immortal Bastion, Vladimir basks in opulence amidst the wealthiest neighborhoods of Noxus Prime. Unlike its counterparts, Mortoraa's streets exude an eerie ambiance, shrouded in perpetual darkness devoid of torchlight or lanterns, casting an ominous aura over the district.
In stark contrast to the clandestine nature of his Black Rose brethren, Vladimir eschews the shadows, embracing sociability and public prominence. He navigates effortlessly between the realms of the public eye and the secret societies he clandestinely governs. Throughout history, Vladimir has graced Noxian noble courts with his presence during pivotal moments, only to retreat into seclusion as decades pass. His enigmatic presence has often eluded historical documentation, leaving behind a trail of speculation and mystery.
Mindful of the limitations of his aging memory, Vladimir painstakingly immortalizes select memories through the creation of written accounts and portraits. Adorning the circular walls of his mansion, these portraits depict the multifaceted facets of his existence, each framed in a distinct style that reflects the shifting tides of time. Amidst the melancholic beauty of his artwork, Vladimir finds solace in the embrace of sadness, a sentiment he deems unparalleled in its allure.
Champion's relations
Within the intricate tapestry of Noxian politics and intrigue, Vladimir's interactions with key figures such as LeBlanc, as well as his involvement in the Black Rose faction, have left an indelible mark on the empire's history.
LeBlanc
Forced into servitude under Mordekaiser, LeBlanc orchestrated her master's downfall with the aid of Vladimir. Together, they founded the Solid Rose faction, known as the Black Rose, orchestrating Mordekaiser's demise and severing his ties to power.
Viewing Vladimir as her sole equal due to his formidable prowess, LeBlanc harbors ambitions to outlive him and claim his power for her own. However, Vladimir's ability to rejuvenate himself poses a significant obstacle to her plans, complicating their dynamic.
Black Rose Faction
A co-founder of the Black Rose alongside LeBlanc, Vladimir played a pivotal role in the organization's clandestine operations over the centuries. Despite his integral role, Vladimir's interests lie outside the realm of political manipulation, and he only intervenes when necessary.
As ideological differences between Vladimir and LeBlanc deepen, Vladimir establishes his own cult, the Tides of Blood Crimson Circle, within the Noxian military. This divergence leads to conflict with the Black Rose, culminating in Vladimir's efforts to sever ties with the faction and sabotage its recent endeavors.
Swain
Vladimir's resurgence as a vocal opponent of the Trifarix Council has piqued Swain's interest, hinting at a deeper understanding of Vladimir's true nature. A confrontation with Trifarix soldiers further illuminates Vladimir's capabilities, observed keenly by Swain's watchful eye.
Galio
The Battle of the Greenfangs saw Vladimir clash with Galio, the sole opponent to have bested him in combat. Crafted from Petricite, a magical material capable of nullifying magic, Galio posed a formidable challenge to Vladimir's hemomantic abilities.
Maokai
The nightblooms adorning Vladimir's mansion were once tended by Maokai, linking Vladimir to the ancient caretaker of the Blessed Isles. Vladimir's presence on the isles, prior to the Ruination, hints at deeper ties to the arcane forces that once thrived there.
Viego
While Viego refers to Vladimir as his uncle, their connection stems from their shared lineage rather than familial closeness. Despite Vladimir's attempts to aid Viego during Isolde's poisoning, Viego's grief-stricken state blinds him to Vladimir's potential assistance.
Kalista
In a clash with Kalista, Vladimir's cunning and mastery of hemomancy allowed him to banish her with a magical artifact. Their connection runs deeper due to Kalista's relation to Viego, further entwining Vladimir in the tangled web of Noxian politics.
Briar
As a creation of hemomancy closely tied to Vladimir's legacy, Briar's existence hints at Vladimir's role as her creator. Though their exact relationship remains ambiguous, Briar regards Vladimir with a sense of reverence and questioning familial connection.
