Opening
Champion's story
While numerous yordles dedicate their energy to exploration, innovation, or simply causing trouble, Tristana's inspiration always stemmed from the heroic exploits of mighty warriors. She was well-versed in the tales of Runeterra, its factions, and its conflicts, and she firmly believed that her kin could also rise to legendary status. Stepping into the world for the very first time, she grasped her reliable cannon, Boomer, and now charges into battle with unwavering courage and a hopeful spirit.
Like most yordles, Tristana was always fascinated by the world beyond Bandle City. She traveled far and wide, full of wonder and enthusiasm for the varied places, people, and creatures she encountered. Using the hidden pathways that only yordles know, she explored the length and breadth of the material realm, remaining mostly unseen.
She witnessed such breathtaking sights as ice trolls migrating across the floes of the far north beneath kaleidoscopic auroras. She marveled as warships blasted each other to pieces in naval battles that churned the seas. She watched, awestruck, as great armies marched with unity and precision--incredibly strange concepts to a yordle!--across the endless sands to the south.
But Tristana's carefree, wandering ways changed the day she witnessed the destruction of a bandlewood. These places are steeped in the magic of the gateways they grow around, giving yordles a safe haven from the world. Tristana, dozing in the dappled sunshine, was shaken awake as the trees around her began to burn and topple. A warband of armored marauders rampaged through the woodland with fire and axes, led by a sorcerer wreathed in dark energy.
Tristana hid in horror. The sorcerer focused his power upon the portal at the heart of the bandlewood, speaking one final utterance. Her ears still ringing with pain, Tristana watched the gateway collapse, never to be opened again. The ripples of that destruction were felt in Bandle City itself, causing great despair among the yordles.
Tristana had never experienced anything like the pain of this loss, or the guilt she felt for not acting. Never again would she allow such a terrible thing to happen. In that moment, she dedicated herself to become the guardian of all bandlewoods, and her fellow yordles.
Tristana had often marveled at how mortals protected the things that were dear to them. While she couldn't comprehend their reasons to guard shiny metals, or walls of stone, she respected their methods, and decided to emulate them. Other yordles watched with curiosity as she took to marching around the borders of Bandle City stern-faced, and watching out for danger. She started calling her food "rations", and set herself strict times for rest and relaxation.
But something was missing. In her travels, she had seen many powerful inventions, including the black powder cannons of Bilgewater. Inspired by them, she collected enough precious metal discs to commission a gun suited to her diminutive size.
With a wry smile, she named it Boomer.
Since then,Tristana has defended the bandlewoods from innumerable threats. In the jungles of the Serpent Isles, she intervened in a clash between the local Buhru people and treasure hunters from Valoran that was getting too close to a hidden portal, sending them all running for their lives after she leapt into their midst, Boomer roaring. And in the burning deserts at the edge of Shurima, she destroyed a Void-horror after it began consuming a secret bandlewood oasis, killing it with an explosive bomb down the gullet.
Tristana has become something of a legend in Bandle City, and recently, a number of yordles have started to imitate her, trying--and mostly failing--to copy her disciplined ways. Some have even had weapons mimicking Boomer constructed for them by the scrappy inventor Rumble, who is always seeking to win Tristana's approval. While Tristana finds this all rather embarrassing, she has come to the conclusion that if they are going to defend the pathways to Bandle City, they had better do it properly. As such, she has started training these new recruits, and they have adopted a new moniker--the Bandle Gunners.
Nevertheless, Tristana can often be found out in the wilds on patrol by herself--simultaneously protecting the bandlewoods and also getting away from her new, and rather annoying, trainees.
Furthermore, we have the story "A quiet night" that begins with Tristana resting by a campfire in a forest clearing, gazing at the starry night sky. She enjoys naming constellations with imaginative titles and contemplates her unique experiences beyond Bandle City.
Tristana, despite her yordle nature, feels hunger and cooks fish over the fire, showing her exceptional marksmanship when hunting them. She affectionately addresses her cannon, Boomer, which she cherishes for its power.
As Tristana enjoys her meal, she senses approaching humans and lays out a circle of twigs to gauge their proximity. Two strangers, a man and a woman, emerge from the forest. Tristana offers them fish, attempting to be polite despite her uncertainty about human customs and language.
However, the duo has ulterior motives. They demand her coins and her prized cannon, Boomer, with intentions to sell it at auction. Tristana humorously rejects their demands, and a hidden confrontation unfolds.
Tristana's keen senses reveal the presence of two more hidden bandits. She uncovers their plan, which prompts the bandits to question her. Tristana's playful banter and fast reflexes reveal her yordle nature.
The bandits attack, but Tristana quickly incapacitates them with her agility and her cannon's firepower. She fends them off with skill, taunting them in the process.
In the end, Tristana defeats the bandits and continues her journey under the starry sky, demonstrating her fearless and adventurous spirit.
This action-packed encounter highlights Tristana's resourcefulness and her determination to protect herself and her cherished weapon, Boomer, as she ventures beyond Bandle City.
There's another story "The whispering doodad" in which we find not just Tristana, but Lulu, Draven and another noxian called Tamara. Tristana and Lulu's adventure in your glade is a delightful tale filled with whimsical magic and unexpected twists. The story begins with the description of a magical glade bathed in moonlight and inhabited by nature spirits. The glade is also home to Tristana and Lulu, two yordles.
Tristana and Lulu are in the glade, trying to locate a portal-opening doodad that Lulu possesses. They accidentally draw the attention of a group of Noxian warriors who are making their way through the forest.
Tristana and Lulu's playful banter and interactions showcase their personalities. Tristana is protective and serious, while Lulu is whimsical and carefree.
The Noxian warriors, led by Draven and Tamara, discover the yordles and engage them in combat. Tristana uses her cannon, Boomer, to fend off the Noxians while Lulu searches for her missing doodad.
Lulu's doodad constantly changes its shape, making it difficult for her to find it. Meanwhile, Tristana and Boomer create chaos among the Noxian soldiers with their powerful attacks.
The battle takes an unexpected turn when Tamara attempts to strike Lulu, but Tristana intervenes, and the resulting cannon blast sends Tamara flying into the forest.
Draven confronts Tristana but is ultimately deterred by the appearance of a giant rabbit with a half-chewed ear, which terrifies him into fleeing the glade.
With the Noxians retreating, Tristana and Lulu retrieve the portal-opening doodad and use it to create a portal back to their world. They bid farewell to the glade and depart, knowing that Noxians always return.
The story is a whimsical and magical adventure that showcases the personalities of the two yordles and their ability to handle unexpected situations with creativity and bravery. It also highlights the contrast between the playful world of the yordles and the rigid nature of the Noxian warriors.
Champion's relations
We have some information about Tristana's relations with other champions. For example, Tristana, Teemo, Lulu and Corki are friends. And Rumble has a crush on her (he calls his mechanized suit "Tristy"). Tristala finds Lulu to be quite a handful and bothersome yordle.
From what we've heard so far, we know that even Draven met Tristana, in that story before, and he did not end up so well after that encounter. Graves captured Teemo for the bounty on yordles while Twisted Fate refused because "messing with Yordles brings a whole heap of trouble." Corki, Lulu and Tristana fought Graves when trying to save Teemo, which ended up in Graves being turned into a frog and the yordles escaping.
