In the meantime, Poppy faithfully charges into combat, using her formidable strength to repel the kingdom's adversaries with each powerful swing.
Opening
Champion's story
Legend tells of a hero who possesses the exclusive ability to unlock the full potential of the hammer and lead Demacia to unparalleled greatness. Poppy, with her relentless pursuit, has scoured every corner of the kingdom in search of this mythical figure, but her efforts have yielded no results. Whenever she attempted to pass on the hammer to a potential hero, the outcomes were catastrophic, often resulting in the warrior's demise. Most individuals would have long abandoned such a daunting task, but Poppy is no ordinary person; she possesses an extraordinary combination of determination and courage that sets her apart as an indomitable heroine.
Once upon a time, Poppy was a different kind of yordle. She had always sought a sense of purpose amidst the whimsical chaos of her fellow yordles, preferring stability and structure. This quest led her to the human settlements in western Valoran, where she observed with fascination the caravans traversing the landscape, driven by the elusive promise of a better life just beyond the horizon.
However, one day, a unique caravan passed through her view. These travelers seemed purpose-driven, waking and eating at precise times, setting up and dismantling their camps with exceptional efficiency. They achieved remarkable feats through coordination and discipline, working together like the gears of a well-oiled machine. To Poppy, their synchronized efforts were more wondrous than any magic.
From her hidden vantage point, Poppy's eyes caught the gleam of armor emerging from a tent, belonging to the charismatic leader named Orlon. Orlon's presence inspired and rallied his comrades, much like the magic of yordle charms, but without any actual magic. Intrigued, Poppy couldn't resist drawing closer to him, feeling an inexplicable connection.
Orlon's leadership left a profound impact on Poppy, and she followed him closely, eager to learn more about his journey and purpose. She observed Orlon's training sessions with his soldiers, marveled at his agility with a massive battle hammer, and even overheard his plans to establish a permanent settlement to the west.
Filled with questions and drawn to Orlon's cause, Poppy made a life-changing decision. She revealed herself to a human for the first time, initiating an introduction that left both parties with countless inquiries. Nevertheless, their connection grew stronger, and Orlon became Poppy's mentor, while she became a devoted supporter of his mission. In the training grounds, Poppy became a valuable sparring partner who wasn't afraid to challenge Orlon's decisions with childlike curiosity.
Their bond led them to the establishment of Demacia, a nation where all were welcome, regardless of their background, as long as they contributed to the greater good. Orlon's hammer became an iconic symbol for the kingdom, believed to possess the power to move mountains and reshape the earth.
On his deathbed, Orlon entrusted Poppy with the hammer and the hope of a lasting kingdom, revealing its true purpose to her. It was meant for the Hero of Demacia, the one who could safeguard the nation's unity. As Orlon breathed his last, Poppy made a solemn vow to find this hero and pass the weapon into their hands. Yet, in her humility, Poppy never once considered the possibility that she might be the very hero Orlon had described.
The Slayer
In her search for a hero, in the story "The Slayer" we follow the journey of Poppy, on a mission to find a renowned monster slayer. She encounters a fierce briar wolf, its bloody maw hinting at imminent danger. Unyielding, Poppy brandishes her formidable hammer, hoping to ward off the creature.
However, the wolf, driven by an inexplicable desperation and foaming at the mouth, presses on, forcing a deadly confrontation. Poppy's mighty swing ends the wolf's suffering, but it leaves her in a desolate meadow, still far from her goal.
Poppy's quest takes her through the remote corners of Demacia, where she hunts for whispers of the elusive hero she seeks. Frustration sets in as she encounters only wild creatures and outlaws, most of whom meet their end in self-defense.
Her pursuit spans weeks until a glimmer of hope appears--a notice advertising the "Festival of the Slayer" celebrating the very hero she's been chasing. Poppy arrives at the village, eager to size up this mysterious figure.
Anxious and late to the event, she weaves through the boisterous crowd and overhears tales of the hero's exploits. Her heart races at the thought that he might be the one she's been seeking. But with this possibility comes a question about her own purpose once the quest is over.
Poppy manages to find a vantage point, just in time to witness the unveiling of a stone statue of the monster slayer. He epitomizes a Demacian warrior, imposing and heroic, with a battle hammer like the one given to Poppy. It seems she has found the true hero.
However, a child mistakes Poppy for the slayer, leading her to realize that the hero she's sought may still be in Uwendale. With renewed determination, she departs the festival, racing towards her next destination, hoping that she's not too late to fulfill her mission.
Champion's relations
When it comes to relations, of course, the first to be mentioned is the relation between Poppy and her master, Orlon (Demacia's founder and weaponsmith), who died leaving Poppy thinking that she is not the hero Orlon's mentioned, thus making Poppy go in the search of a hero, until she realizes who the real hero is.
Of course, we can see how Poppy has a lot in common with the yordle Kled, both of them are helping the human civilizations they align with, we can also say the same thing about Heimerdinger, but he's doing it more for science not for humans.
Poppy know about the existence of Lulu and Tristana and she fought alongside Vayne against the undead army unleashed by Viego in a demacian city.
Closing Words
In the epic tale of Poppy, the indomitable yordle on a quest for a hero, we've witnessed courage, determination, and the unyielding spirit of a tiny warrior. We hope Poppy will realize in the end that she's the hero, without needing to give the hammer to every character she deems worthy.
