Norra
Hey lore-lovers, welcome back to another League's lore video, and in this one I will talk about Norra and Poppy, I know we already have an idea about who Poppy is and what she's doing, but many of us have no idea about Norra, which is yet another yordle with a very interesting pet, Yuumi. Now relax and enjoy while I will talk about them.
Opening
Champion's story
As I said, Norra is a yordle, and as any other yordle from Runeterra, she came from Bandle City, a magical place from where these fluffy and cute creatures are coming. Each yordle has a special skill or something like that, for Norra her special talent is creating portals. Norra is able to summon special creatures from various parts of the universe through these portals. We can see her in action only in the cards game (Legends of Runeterra).
And another special thing, is her companion, Yuumi. I know I said pet, but that's not quite a fair word for Yuumi, because Yuumi is not a simple cat and was actually behaving like Norra's friend and guardian. Using the Book of Thresholds (Yuumi calls it just Book), Norra and Yuumi traveled through a lot of places in Runeterra, the portal skill comes, of course, from the Book, Norra being just able to use it.
From Yuumi's perspective we know that Norra is actually a very powerful and mysterious yordle, and in their adventures Norra was always looking for precious and powerful items to collect, but Yuumi was too distracted by anything else to notice the importance of the artifacts Norra was looting.
Everything went so far so good until one day, when Norra decided to go on another adventure through one of her portals, but this time she did not take Yuumi and the Book with her, which meant that she was not able to return to them, leaving Yuumi alone with the Book of Thresholds. Remaining without her master, Yuumi wanted to use the Book to go back to her, and it seemed like the Book was responding to her pleas for help. Yuumi and the Book started traveling again, searching for Norra.
In her search, Yuumi found a clue about Norra, as we can find out in Yuumi's story: "Eventually, Yuumi uncovered the scent of her master lingering in a vast Shuriman ruin. Digging deep into the sand, she unearthed a broken shard of blue pottery that looked like a piece from one of Norra's teapots. Before she could burrow further, a ferocious beast surfaced from the sand, and Yuumi and Book barely escaped. She could only imagine the chaos if a creature like that ripped its claws into Book's pages."
And in the end, only in Legends of Runeterra's lore, Yuumi and the Book finds Norra again, with Yuumi being very upset at her for leaving her alone. Now, a theory is that Norra did it intentionally, giving Yuumi the opportunity to learn new things and go on adventures alone, thinking she will learn a lot of stuff by not depending on her help. Another theory says that Norra had actually found herself in a lot of trouble and did not want to expose her hideout, so she left the Book to Yuumi and closed the portal hoping that she can solve the problems and then Yuumi will find her someday.
Champion's relations
When it comes to other relations Norra has, it seems like the only information we have is about her relations with Yuumi and the Book. Seems like this character lives a lonely life, maybe because she gathers a lot of artifacts that she wants to protect.
Closing Words
So, this yordle that looks like a granny and has a cute magical cat with her, is still a mysterious character as we don't know what she is looking for in her adventures, what is she collecting?
